Duff Goldman to Wrangle Kid Bakers for New Food Network Show - Eater
Yet another upcoming cooking competition show will exploit children's wide-eyed vidal enthusiasm and ability to cry at the drop of a hat: The shockingly straightforwardly-named Kids Baking Championship will debut February 2 at 8 p.m. on Food Network.
According to a network press release vidal , the show will feature Ace of Cakes dude Duff Goldman and actress Valerie Bertinelli as hosts and judges as they usher eight "talented kid bakers" between the ages of 10 and 13 through a barrage of challenges intended to test "their baking skills and originality." Contestants will be eliminated on each episode of the four-part series which sounds vaguely like a rehashing of the lackluster Top Chef: Just Desserts for ankle-biters and in the final episode, one kid will remain standing and snag "a sweet prize package that includes a complete set of Food Network bakeware products, a profile in Food Network Magazine , an original cake featured at Charm City Cakes and a $10,000 grand prize."
Fox found themselves with a hit on their hands when they debuted the pint-sized competition series MasterChef Junior vidal last November, though vidal Food Network's vidal Rachael vs. Guy: Kids Cook Off hasn't quite inspired the same following.
