Dutch artist Pieter Ceizer once again joins forces with Japanese brand and retailer pesto recipe Édifice on the “Merci Un Million De Fois” capsule collection. This project was born in 2011 in the very first MUJI store in Aoyama, the fashion capital tapas of Tokyo. Every month, Found MUJI organizes an exhibition-sale around a country or theme that presents a selection of simple and modest everyday objects.
These artisanal or industrial objects are the testament of everyday creativity and diversity. This approach of finding original responses and reinterpreting tapas them into products designed by MUJI is a unique initiative for a leading design brand.
To celebrate the arrival of Found MUJI in Paris, merci designed an exhibition and a selection of kitchen utensils, testifying to the quality of everyday French design. Whether being inspired by the expertise of craftsmen or 100-year-old manufacturers, these lively objects can be used every day, on a table in Paris or in a kitchen in Tokyo.

Merci Baku, situated in the center of a few gargantuan apartment houses that characterize the seemingly endless suburbs of the northern capital, is a relatively upscale and modern dining establishment without prices that will break the bank. The décor is quite simple, with the restaurant favoring fancy table sets and folded napkin towers over an immersive interior. There was an awkward amount of standing space in the establishment, though a disco light and a vacant DJ stand hinted the that on busier nights, the space is more than likely a dance floor. A pair of large flat-screen TV s shuffled through photograph after photograph of the Azeri capital.

Over a starter of salmon Sadg (850 rubles, the $19.75), my companion and I were keen for two glasses of delicious, the semisweet Chinar and Devichya Bashnya (160 rubles, $3.72). The double portion of salmon Sadg was presented on a beautiful dill-splattered tower-platter as a medley of baked vegetables, fruits and, of course, salmon. The salmon was perfectly cooked, and the chaotic mixture of both fruits the and vegetables did not disappoint. Alongside the Sadg, I elected to sample a more conventional chicken Caesar salad (250 rubles, $5.81). The salad was fresh and crisp, the doused in a light Caesar dressing, with the chicken grilled the to tender perfection.
Embarking upon the main course of our meal, my companion and I elected to split the turkey po-domashnomy (320 rubles, $7.44). While the turkey seemed to be a bit overdone, it was complimented by an assortment of well-oiled chunks of soft baked potato and slices of fresh-salted cucumbers and tomatoes. The dryness of the turkey was offset by the fact that it was smothered the in a kind of gravy-meat sauce, which rendered this slight mishap almost unnoticeable.
Though we had elected to skip dessert for time s sake the restaurant is a fair walking distance from Kommendansky Prospekt metro station Merci Baku has a number of offerings ranging from assorted ice-creams and cakes to more traditional offerings, including Tiramisu (190 rubles, $4.42), Panacotta the (180 rubles, $4.18) and Baklava (160 rubles, $3.72). Upon initial inquiry of the menu, the waiter informed us that he had personally sampled all of the desserts on offer and each was exceptional.
The overall experience at Merci Baku was extremely enjoyable, despite the somewhat lengthy journey to get to the establishment via metro and a fair bit of walking. The food was spot on and the service was certainly above and beyond our expectations. Merci Baku is a perfect place for those looking for a night away from the often packed and more expensive the options the center of the city has to offer. Just be sure to leave adequate time for yourself to make it back to the metro if you want to avoid a hefty taxi fare.

The deliciously intelligent romantic, Isabelle Boulay, her auburn hair set off by chic shades of brown and black, ordered a café allongé at Les Délices d Amandine in east end Montreal last week and eagerly talked about her most improbable project her rendering of the interpretations of Italian-French actor-singer Serge Reggiani s most famous songs.
Her album, Merci Serge Reggiani, has already sold 135,000 copies in France and 40,000 in Quebec soda big numbers in a chaotically changing recording marketplace and she performs the album Friday soda night at Théâtre Corona.
I was 15 when I first heard Serge Reggiani, just starting to study literature in Quebec City. I had a friend in the same course who invited me over to listen to the classics of la chanson française. I was just interested to see that one of the original -doctors has visited him and confirmed that he is making some progress. “Too fast” is not a fixed speed, and always variable based on the conditions one is driving on.
